CORPORATE WORLD CUP - WEEK 2 - GROUPS 3&4

The competition is spicing up πŸ”₯

Some teams vying to put their feet up.
Others, fighting for a chance to stay in the competition.

The Highlights πŸ“Έ

Group 3

ONEIGHTY vs. TIPi Group

After putting the competition on notice last week ONEIGHTY came into the match heavy favourites and unsurprisingly, racked up 3 early goals.

Once the initial shock wore off, TIPi dusted themselves off and got going. Captain Collins, not the war hero his name suggests but more importantly, TIPi's gaffer.

This week he tinkered, utilising a large squad, rotating well and keeping his soldiers fresh πŸ’¨

This David vs Goliath story is just beginning.

As time ticked on, ONEIGHTY began to tire.
TIPi, ready to pounce, levelling the score at every opportunity ❌

Despite Miller doing his utmost to put the game to bed. The underdogs nick a point and go into the final group game with a chance of progressing 🀯

Onfido vs. Anomaly

Anomaly, primed.
Gibbons back in town and ready to party πŸ₯³

The class, the elegance, the va va voom.
We can all see it.
The long sleeves with the black gloves.
The nonchalant celebration.
Partnered with Derrick, it just reeked of WengerBall at the Highbury.
Secta footy at the Shoreditch? πŸ€”

Frustratingly, Anomaly had an answer for everything with any Onfido goal quickly answered by a few more.

The age-old tactic of, β€œif you score, we will just score more”.
Yes, that classic.

Onfido defended brilliantly at times, despite what the scoreline suggests.

Captain Kam, a testament to that and as a result was awarded player of the match. Yet the nobleman he is, graciously shared the credit with his teamπŸ¦Έβ€β™‚οΈ

Proper leader.

But did you share the Lucozade? πŸ‘€

Group 4

The Mill vs Press Box PR

Big up The Mill who arrived with confidence and swagger that could have easily departed after last week's drumming πŸ₯

They showed chemistry with silky interlinking play resulting in early goals that set the tone.

Despite the scoreline, Press Box showed heart to power on and showed spells of good football.

A notable shoutout to Papa who never gave up and kept fighting until the final whistle.

Player of the match πŸŽ–: Ashby

McCann London vs AKQA

The AKQA fans return. Big games only, is it? πŸ‘€

A fiery affair, with strong tackles and excellent football.

There are only so many ways you can say this.

McCann took the lead with their frontrunner for the golden boot, TS7, notching the first, adding to the 12 he scored on the opening night.

Levin did his best to catapult AKQA to victory but McCann executed some classic man-marking to ensure his capabilities were limited.

It was good to see captain JJ welcomed back with open arms as the clouds surrounding his future were put to bed with a dominant performance.

TS7 this, TS7 that.
Somebody stop him and we’ll have someone else to write about.

Player of the match πŸŽ–: Levin

Until next week,
Secta.
