CORPORATE WORLD CUP - WEEK 2 - GROUPS 1&2

Week 2 at the Secta World Cup.

There is plenty of action for us to sink our teeth into from the real Monday Night Football.

The highlights ๐Ÿ“ธ

Group 1

Bloomberg LP vs. Saatchi & Saatchi

A cagey start with both teams nervous to concede in the hotly contested Group 1 ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

There is a sudden influx of Latin football to Secta and we're all for it. Bloomberg the latest to flex their muscles with a couple of continental ballers.

Vicari and Curtis-Gutierrez as you could imagine, were straight flames, interlinking nicely throughout the first half ๐Ÿ”ฅ

The second half was a little different.

Success breeds complacency.
Complacency breeds failure.
And Bloomberg gave it a whirl.
Simple passes, astray.
Heads, gone.
Before you know it, Saatchi within a 2-goal margin.

Bloomberg didn't like the taste of failure and when it counted, bucked their ideas up ๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ

Player of the match ๐ŸŽ–: Vicari

VCCP vs. VMLY&R

A tight affair where neither team showed any dominance ๐Ÿ™‰

VMLY&R under strict instructions.
Sit back and counter.
A first half performance Dyche would have been proud of ๐Ÿ‘Š

VCCP elevated their game after an earful from Mallins at the break.
They needed it.

Silky football combined with VMLY&Rโ€™s lack of composure meant VCCP peppered their opponent's goal in the second โ˜„๏ธ

VMLY&R missed a crucial pen to narrow the lead, leaving our spicy ending to be left to the imagination.

It's all about the 3 points, not how you get them.

Player of the match ๐ŸŽ–: O'Neill

Group 2

Ogilvy UK vs. Wieden + Kennedy

Ogilvy were out for redemption in a rematch of the recent Advertising Cup Final.

A fiery start to the game with Ogilvy UK striking first.

A ding-dong battle in the first half.
Intense, physical and unadulterated entertainment ๐Ÿ“ธ

Ogilvy leveraged their large squad and continued to drive on. Shout out to Babalola, the man's determination kept Ogilvy in it.

The second half, as spicy as the first with no-nonsense goal-scoring from Adjei.

Stott kept Ogilvy within touching distance between the sticks ๐Ÿงค

Enter the dynamic duo ๐Ÿ™Œ
The Kobe and Shaq of SECTA.
Captain Pym and his trusty sidekick Jonathon.
Clutching another game with a flurry of late goals.

Player of the match ๐ŸŽ–: Pym

Genius Sports vs. LATOPE

LATOPE came armed and ready ๐Ÿ”ซ
Full squad, raring to go.

However, any confidence quickly dampened as Genius shot first.

Too many new players to integrate into one game?
Maybe...

As the game developed itโ€™s clear gaffer Goldstein had it all planned out! #tinkerman

The subs were rolling in and LATOPE showed the ace under their sleeve ๐Ÿƒ

Cheeky buggers ๐Ÿ™ˆ

Doumouc rolls through and is a class above.
Long-range screamers, simple give-and-goโ€™s.
The lot ๐Ÿ”ฅ
And? Over the moon with his Lucozade player of the match award.
Proper player.

Genius had a lot of talent on the pitch but lacked the squad depth and slowly withered away.

Player of the match ๐ŸŽ–: Doumou

Until next time,
Secta
