ROUND OF 16 - CUP - SUMMER LEAGUE - FOOTBALL
This week, 16 London-based agencies battled it out in a bid place their hands on that sweet, sweet, advertising cup 🏆
16 teams, reduced to 8. Let’s find out how it happened 👇
Sai quickly found out McCann London are the last side you want to be facing right now with the team in hot form placing 17 passed Investis Digital. Echoes of "he doesn't miss" could be heard from BOXPARK as man like TS7 notched 7 of those 🤯
It wasn’t all doom and gloom for Sai as he stood in to help his former side Ogilvy UK in their fixture against Sticker Studios. Brookner, was happy with his side's performance but noted the lack of substitutes cost them in the end. It could have gone either way and despite Sean The Hammer Hogan running round with that rocket attached to his left peg, it was Tope that sealed the deal with some slick interplay to give Ogilvy the win 📈
Unbeknown to Naylor this was actually the cup competition and the Lucky Generals win puts them through to the Quarters.
Glad everyone’s reading the content 👀
Captain, Taylor, noted his relief in holding out for the victory but was disappointed the league didn’t capture his assist off the wall. Although we did manage to catch him getting turned inside out by BBH’s Jordan, which Taylor will “definitely not be reposting” 😬
BBH London can take positives from the performance, with silky Jordan looking most likely to step into the void left by former talisman, Adjei, as he leaves for Wieden + Kennedy.
These teammates now a distant memory as Adjei arrived on pitch 12 to support his new side after day 1 at the new gig. Fresh tote bag, the lot. And what a spectacle he chose to watch 🎥
We Are Social had this in the bag you know. 2 up, 2 subs, 15 minutes to play. They’ll be ruing their poor game management but an impressive performance from Jide and Jonathon brought this home for the reigning champs 🙌
Big shout out to Noble, who scored an absolute HOWTZINGER. Sadly, it counts for nothing other than cracking content. Which is actually what we’re all about, so who’s the real winner?
Graham AKA. Mr Optimistic predicted an 8-7 loss in Saatchi & Saatchi’s fixture against league leaders The Mill. Noting he was being “realistic” when questioned by his teammates. In a series of shocking events, Saatchi managed to come out on top, with Graham even bagging a goal himself. Would you believe it? 😱
Wilkie was confident ahead of adam&eveDDB’s clash, stating this is the agency's strongest side. Whoopsie. It was a tight game and maybe if Bailey could finish his dinner, it would have been a different story. AKQA battled hard for the win and make it through to the quarters 🍝
A bitter pill for Adam & Eve to swallow made even worse after bumping into former player and new Anomaly signing, Shepherd. Not long in the job and he’s already reaping the benefits as Anomaly cruise passed VMLY&R.
There you have it.
Round of 16, done.
Quarter-Finals, 15th August.
Until then,
Secta.
