MW4 - SL - FOOTBALL
This week at Secta, McCann London follow The Mill's lead and go 3 for 3 as they continue in hot pursuit of the top spot π
And there's no better place to start.
This McCann London side is finally picking up the results their talent is capable of. But guys, if the cup is anything to go by, let it be known if this side wins the league you're not gonna hear the end of the end. Youβll be seeing a star on that pink shirt before the trophy is tucked up in JJ's bed. Nonetheless, they've always shown potential and maybe the cup humbling and recent appearances of the experienced, no-nonsense centre half, Williams, is exactly what they've needed π
The Mill and Droga5 produced our first draw of the season. A point that keeps The Mill top of the table and ensures they continue their impressive unbeaten run β
The title race is well and truly ON π
Anomaly cruise passed Wieden + Kennedy with the scoreline not representing what unfolded on pitch 12. Wieden's keeper, Graham, picked up the player of the match award, in what could have been a proper drubbing if not for him π§€
Pitch 5 was where the action was at this week.
Ogilvy UK started the game without keeper Stott and didnβt they know it. An early strike nutmegged George, catching him off Stride and gave AKQA Group the lead. He quickly made amends with two cracking finishes that catapulted his side back into the game. On the night it was AKQA's dogged fight and determination that secured the 3 points, epitomised by captain Elliott's passionate display πͺ
Next up we had Saatchi & Saatchi taking on AMV BBDO. A game of 3 kits. It was another tight clash with AMV BBDO edging the first half with a one-goal lead. Saatchi have Graham to thank, who turned up at half-time with their new kit and despite a not so Mr Smooth missed penalty, they looked like a different outfit in that second halfβ¦ π½
The table will make weary reading for on watching existing champions and runners-up, who although have a couple of games in hand are currently 10 points off the pace π
Yikes.
