MW7 - AL - FOOTBALL - D2
This one is really heating up.
All 6 sides with a chance of promotion.
One side going from 5th to 2nd this week.
Let's get into it.
Division 2
Let’s start with Anomaly looking for their 3rd win on the trot, facing a 2nd place Ogilvy UK side. Despite the table, this really was a one-sided affair and such a vast difference in quality was reflected in the scoreline. Some absolute wondergoals from Anomaly - although one is left to wonder how much credit they warrant after Ogilvy UK keeper admitted to being scared of the force with which a few of his opponents struck their shots. Someone needs to stand between the sticks. I guess. This one was over almost before it began, despite a particularly valiant performance from an Ogilvy UK player who didn’t stop running throughout 🏃♂️
Anomaly is the side nobody wants to face right now. After previously highlighting the McCormick masterclass, it's fair to say this is a side brimming with confidence from back to front. It may have been little Edgar that got him the Anomaly gig but it could be this management performance that has the headhunters circling. After a difficult start to the season, Anomaly have turned their fortunes around, leaping from 5th to 2nd with this emphatic victory 📈
Ogilvy UK 4 - 22 Anomaly
Next, we have league leaders Havas London, taking on cup specialists Droga5 in what has been described by on watchers (the ref) as a “cracking game of football”. It was an intense start to the game with both teams giving it their all. Droga5 grabbed 2 quick goals but Havas fought their way back into the half, going into the break 2-2. Energy levels dropped in the second half and so did defensive standards, as Droga5 managed to open up a decent gap. Havas London dug deep and levelled the game at 9-9 with minutes to play. In a crazy series of events, both teams scored in the remaining moments resulting in a draw 🔥
Havas London 10 - 10 Droga5
The final fixture of the evening saw We Are Social, against McCann London. The latter started extremely strongly taking a 6-2 lead going into the break. But in what truly was a game of two halves, We Are Social came out of the break with a bee in their bonnet. They quickly chased down the lead and in what was another great comeback from We Are Social, secured the victory 👏
A big win for We Are Social - with 4 games left to play they’re only 4 points off a promotion spot, despite sitting at the bottom of the table.
Monday’s clash against Anomaly is a big one.
We Are Social 11 - 9 McCann London
There we have it.
It’s really is all to play for in Division 2.
Until next time.
