Another week and another round of exciting football for you all!

With the league leaders suffering a shock drumming 🥁, a new BBH signing hits the ground running 🏃 and a missed penalty costs one side the points 😲.

The advertising league is well and truly there for the taking.

BBH London 13-5 The Mill

The Mill, still searching for their first win of the season, started the stronger of the two sides. As their early lead grew, they seemed to shock BBH London into existence as they picked up from a slow start and came out on top. It was a man of the match performance from fresh transfer Boden, as he looks to achieve new heights after leaving Saatchi & Saatchi ⚡️

Saatchi & Saatchi 9-11 adam&eveDDB

Saatchi, now without former captain Boden, had a big game on their hands. With both sides tied on 9 points, hot on the tails of the top 3. Saatchi made a strong start and took an early lead. Adam & Eve, on the other hand, drew on the referee to help as their 5th man with a last-minute dropout. Saatchi at one point held a 5-1 lead but Adam & Eve dug deep, found their recent form and started to play some liquid football in the second half 💦

We Are Social 10-2 Droga5

When you saw this fixture on the schedule, you thought it would be business as usual for Anderson's league leaders, however, We Are Social had a different agenda. Droga missing some regular starters lacked the same intensity they showed in becoming league leaders, allowing We Are Social to sink their teeth into the game. Maybe it was only a moment of complacency or possibly a sign of things to come? A special mention to Morris from We Are Social, who's dominant display in the midfield allowed his side to maintain pressure throughout the tie 🤙

McCann London 12-13 Anomaly

Last but not least onto clash of the night on pitch 12. Both sides sitting in the middle of the table it was always going to be tight. But the following 40 minutes that ensued produced a cracking game of football. Anomaly started the stronger but any lead was quickly nullified by the opposing team and this theme continued throughout the night. That was until Phil turned up. Phil and his pinpoint left boot.
He could have scored the quickest hat-trick in Secta Leagues history with a series of acute left-footed finishes. As the game drew to a close, McCann were gifted with an almighty opportunity. A penalty to draw the game level. Up steps McCann's best player on the night. Moments left to play. One step. And calmly slots it straight at the keeper. How they could rue that miss 😱

VCCP take the lead as Wunderman Thompson were unable to field a side 😬

Until next week,
Secta.
