CORPORATE WORLD CUP - WEEK 3 - GROUPS 3&4

Groups 3 & 4 heard about Monday night’s raucous and pulled up a seat at the party 🎉

The last round of group stages.
Knockouts looming.
Last chance saloon for some, doom and gloom for others 😬

The highlights 📸

Group 3

Anomaly, already qualified.
TIPi Group, a chance, a slim, slim chance.
ONEIGHTY, should be fine 👀
Onfido, fighting for pride.

How it went down 👇
ONEIGHTY back to full strength with Sordell and Cook returning.
Anomaly up against it from the get-go.
Despite there being a clear difference in quality.
Anomaly showed fight, hunger and a desire to win.
They wanted it.
On this occasion, it wasn’t enough.
ONEIGHTY were too good.
The movement, the touch, the quality.
Too slick with it 🔥

ONEIGHTY bounce back from last week’s lacklustre performance and regain confidence going into the Quarter-Finals.

TIPi gave themselves a chance after a heroic comeback against ONEIGHTY last week.

They couldn’t, could they?!

They needed to win and win big.

Onfido were without captain Kam.
Last week’s player of the match.
Pfft, fear not.
Northcote stepped up to the plate, engineering a masterful performance. Like he always does 🎻

Where has this side been all tournament?

They took TIPi by surprise.
They took us all by surprise as they raced to 13-3 win.
The infamous new manager bounce.

Group 4
It was a similar story in group 4.
McCann London already qualified and Press Box PR playing for pride.
This left The Mill and AKQA battling it out for the final qualifying spot.
Both tied on 3 points.
Winner takes all 🤯

Both teams understood the assignment,
Therefore as you can imagine, it was a cagey start.
AKQA, as ever, with a couple of fans for support.
With the cheers, came the breakthrough.

After the deadlock was broken AKQA looked comfortable.
There’s a well-balanced aura to this AKQA side.

The flair of Shneur and Boas, equally waited with the solidarity of Elliott and of course, not forgetting man like Quinn and co. AKQA’s metronome. The Iniesta.

After the first half, AKQA didn’t look in much danger and saw the game out for a 13-2 victory.

The other game in the group welcomed a tough innings for Press Box PR.

Up against the advertising champions, it was never going to be easy.
McCann’s newborn flairman, Wynn, rose in the absence of TS7.
An equal measure of interlinking tika taka ball with clinical finishing.

Name a better combination 🤔

Press Box can take positives from the fact they bagged 8 against this side, which sadly, were not captured by the SECTA content team.
Sorry, Dawnay.
Pay will be docked.

There we have it.
ONEIGHTY, Anomaly, McCann London and AKQA make up the remaining 4 quarter-finalists.

Monday 28th.
Quarter Final Night.
Let’s go.

Until then,
Secta.
