MW5 - AL - FOOTBALL - D2

As promised, here is the Division 2 weekly report.

Let’s get into it.

Matchweek 5 - Divison 2

Let's kick off with highlights from Droga5 vs McCann London.

McCann were treated to a long warmup after captain, JJ, told his team kick-off was 40-minutes earlier than it was. Smooth.

These minutes playing amongst themselves could have been their downfall after they managed to cancel out 2 early goals, with 2 own goals of their own. Never been seen before 😬

After this blip it didn’t take McCann London long to get into their stride with consistent pressure, eventually breaking Droga5 down. At times, McCann played silky football and were rewarded for it. Where has this McCann team been all season?

A special shoutout to Alex Passingham who provided all the highlights in this fixture. Periods of good tekkers, taking on players and slotting goals for fun. Some really bad tekkers. Not only missing a penalty but before taking the kick, pointing into the corner 🤦🏼‍♂️ But credit where credits due. He produced some UNBELIEVAAAABLE TEKKERS, scoring a half-volley inside his half. All captured on our stories of course 📺

Droga5 9 - 18 McCann London

Next up we had Ogilvy UK vs We Are Social. With reports that Mackay’s team were spurred on by the most vocal support pitch 12 has seen to date 🎉

The game itself was a tough battle with the scores remaining close until just before half-time. This was when We Are Social turned up the dial and started to pull away.

As the second half started, the new faces of We Are Social made the difference. Exquisite ball control across the park, at times walking through a well organised Ogilvy side, giving We Are Social their first win of the season 🍾

The final fixture of the evening saw Anomaly take on the unbeaten league leaders, Havas London. After a slow start to the season, you’d be forgiven for thinking Anomaly could be in trouble here 🙈

After weeks on the sidelines, the return of captain McCormick gave Anomaly some hope. These hopes were quickly squandered after a strong start from Havas London, as they took a 5-3 lead into the break.

After a few chosen words and carefully scripted instructions from captain, Arthur McCormick, Anomaly set off on their mission. We’ll have to get our hands on that notepad as Anomaly came out of the blocks firing, closing the 2 goal deficit and taking control of the game 📝

Anomaly dominated the second half and picked up the win, securing their first 3 points of the season 🎉

What a day for Divison 2. A few unexpected victories have opened it up as we approach the halfway point of the season.

All to play for.

Until next time,
Secta.
