MW7 - WL - FOOTBALL
🚨 4 games left to play 🚨
This week at Secta momentum continues for the league leaders, one of the chasing pack drop the ball and there are rumours of new management at Ogilvy UK 👀
It was a sight to play the first fixtures of the year in daylight, who on earth called this the winder league? Idiots. But thank god for summer hours, are we right?! ☀️
VCCP 12-7 Wieden + Kennedy
Let’s start at the top with leaders, VCCP. Loved by none and feared by all. Well, not really but sounds good doesn’t it? On this occasion, the scoreline flattered VCCP as Wieden + Kennedy were dominant but couldn’t finish their dinner on the night. Even VCCP's Bossman was surprised that they somehow secured the victory. But that’s what winners do. And this VCCP side keep on winning. Apart from last week. But that was the cup. Unbeaten in the league 🍽
BBH London 9 - 8 Droga5
This meant Droga5 needed to win to keep on the heels of the league leaders. BBH London are no easy feat mind, coming into the game in hot form following a big win in the cup last week. This game was a classic, Droga5 started the stronger and at one point held a 5-1 lead. It was another stroke of magic from Cumming's. At half-time, he gathered the BBH players around him, paused and delivered the clear, concise instructions, "score more than them". Wise words from the Scotsman. Sometimes you just need to put the simple instructions out there and the players will do the rest 📝
The Mill 8 - 26 adam&eveDDB
It’s been a tough season for The Mill but they’re not without quality with David being their main outlet with his fair share of goals and a hell of a lot of saves. That said, adam&eveDDB were too strong for The Mill on this occasion with quality all over the pitch, with a special mention to Richard's right foot and only his right foot. If anyone's actually seen his left foot please get in touch, last seen walking into Powerleague Shoreditch circa 7pm, Monday evening 🦶
It’s not all doom and gloom for The Mill, with captain Daisy assuring us next year will be their year 📈
Ogilvy UK 14-5 Saatchi & Saatchi
El Capitano, Stride swanned off to the Grand Prix, leaving Ogilvy UK in the capable hands of Sai. It was a performance reminiscent of Blowers interim stint at McCann London. Is Sai mounting his claim for management? One thing is certainly for sure, he got them to turn up on time which is bonus points in our mind 👀
We wish the same could be said for Luke's, Wunderman Thompson.
We Are Social 9 - 7 McCann London
After a glowing write up in last week’s report, McCann London decided to revert to their old ways, failing to build on last week's emphatic victory. Spurs? We even said, “one to watch”. Again, idiots. That said, it was a close fixture but strong individual performances from We Are Social carried them to victory 🎒
Until next week,
Secta.
